Fundraising accounts for one third of SWESA’s operating budget. Annual Appeal donations go directly to offset operational expenses, ensuring we can maintain a low annual membership fee of $30, provide affordable programs and expand programs that meet the interests and needs of older adults.

SWESA’s 2022 Annual Appeal formally begins October 1st. Already we have the commitment of a matching $10,000 donation from a generous anonymous donor. You can donate anytime – so why not donate now when you can double the value of your donation!

“Give with purpose and double the value of your gift!” Mike Bull, Volunteer Lead, 2022 Annual Appeal

Friends of SWESA are donors who have pledged to donate over $100, many of whom donate every year. Friends will be recognized on a special plaque and at a recognition event. If you would like to know more about becoming a Friend of SWESA, contact treasurer@swesa.ca

All donations, big and small are appreciated. A tax deductible receipt is issued for any donation of $20.00 or more.

In 2021 we raised over $33,000!

“Friends come into your life for a reason.  SWESA came into my life as a miracle.   As we age we lose our friends for many reasons and life can become lonely. I joined SWESA and life returned.  I have met so many lovely new friends and reunited with friends from years ago.”

Visit our 2021 Annual Donor Appreciation Wall. Your donations of time and money are what makes SWESA possible – as a resilient non profit organization enhancing life for older adults in southwest Edmonton.

The pandemic experience has only crystallized what we knew all along – that health and wellbeing are directly tied to being within a community of friends and with whom we have purpose and fun to fill our days.  This is SWESA.
